I wrote this song right after "Josephine" for another family member who was a bit down. It is so easy to get caught up in a negative cycle of thought. But everything we experience good or bad is merely temporary and the only thing we can guarantee is CHANGE... and that sure is a comforting fact when things are at their worst :) I wanted to save this tune for a full band jam along the lines of "While My Guitar Gently Weeps" but decided to keep it all acoustic and leave the heavier guitars out.
lyrics
SWEET MISERY
Sister heartache
Please don't cry
Now wipe the tears from your eyes
Life gets better
Don't you hide
Love is still worth the fight
Nothing ever works out the way that you dream
When it does it's bound to fall apart at the seams
Too good
To believe
My sweet misery
Nothing's as bad as you think
My sweet misery
My sweet misery
But nothing is ever too easy
Brother sorrow
Please don't start
Second guessing your heart
Time will show you
All you've got
Is greater than what you wanted
Strolling down memory lane
You're looking back again
Just turn around to see the present day
Is second
To nothing
My sweet misery
Wish I could make you believe
My sweet misery
My sweet misery
That everything here has a reason
Even misery
So sister heartache
Please don't cry
Life is still worth the fight
My sweet misery
Nothing's as bad as you think
My sweet misery
My sweet misery
And everything here's temporary
Even misery
