This is probably my favorite track on "Zero' to this day. I wrote this song about the sudden realization that our time here is fleeting. That sad day that you notice a new generation is anxious to take the torch from you...whether you want to let it go or not. It's a rare, mellon collie radio number that shows a darker side of the band. This song was a glimpse into what was coming and what else we had in the tank that wasn't fully represented on this CD. We put the song last on the disc to bookend the idea of a journey beginning with "Road of Life" to show that some time had passed since the start of this disc and this band. Sadly, it was a prophetic ending to a lineup that was coming to an end.
But that's what is truly great about recorded music. It has been encapsulated and preserved to sound exactly the same as it sounded all those years ago. Maybe our perceptions of the music will change, but the songs remain the same Mr. Page :) This version of the band will live on along side other versions in it's own sonic time-capsule. Art rules!
This Nashville trio make ultra-catchy indie rock (in the '90s sense of the term) with taut musicianship and a freewheeling spirit. Bandcamp New & Notable Feb 2, 2021
The latest from Wren Kitz, on the always-great NNA Tapes, is a study in minimalism, with barely-there guitars and hushed vocals. Bandcamp New & Notable May 4, 2017
