about

Pronounced "Dee-Why-Kay", these letters are an acronym of the chorus. The song is about a once meaningful relationship that has been reduced to an empty sexual experience. This bottom-heavy, melodic groover was originally written with the middle section on just guitar, but the dynamics worked better as a bass solo. A band staple live, this song gave the 4-stringed instrument the well-deserved spotlight.

lyrics

DYK

Say you love me
But you don’t even know what love is anymore
Or never did

Say you want me
But you don’t even understand me anymore
Or never did
At all

You’re down on your knees
You’re down on your knees
You’re down on your knees
It means nothing

Well I still love you
But cannot cheapen what we have here anymore
And never will

'Cause I can’t let you
Keep my head hanging in question anymore
And never will
Again

You’re down on your knees
Down on your knees
You’re down on your knees
It means nothing

You’re down on your knees
Down on your knees
Get up on your feet
Without me
